NHS APP

About the NHS app

The NHS App is a convenient way to manage your healthcare. You can use it to book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, and view your medical records at any time.

We are now making more appointments available to book through the app, helping reduce waiting times on the phone.

All online appointments begin with patients completing a Patient Triage Request. These are available to book from 7am, Monday to Friday, and will be triaged the same day

When putting through a patient triage request, we encourage you to give as much information as you can to describe your issue. This helps the doctor to better asses your request, address your concerns more quickly and offer effecvtive treatment.

Getting Started with the NHS App

The NHS App is easy to download and use. Simply search for ‘NHS App’ in your device’s app store and follow the download instructions.

To get started, you’ll be asked a few security questions, such as your:

  • Full name

  • Address

  • NHS number

  • Email address

Once set up, you’ll have secure, 24/7 access to key health services right from your phone.

Enabling Notifications on the NHS App

We recommend all patients enable notifications on their NHS App to stay updated on new messages, questionnaires, and queries.

To enable notifications:

  1. Log in to the NHS App

  2. Go to ‘Account’ and then ‘Settings’

  3. Select ‘Manage Notifications’

  4. Use the toggle to turn notifications on

Please note, it may take up to 24 hours for changes to take effect. If you’re using the app on multiple devices, make sure to follow these steps on each device. If you share your device with others, they may also see these notifications.
